Getting caught up on the two super tournaments that finished in the last few days.

In Biel Magnus Carlsen (NOR) coasted home with three straight draws to finish two points ahead of Alexander Morozevich (RUS) in the 3 point scoring 19-17. He gained enough rating points to now have his highest rating ever and highest rating held by anyone not named Kasparov. Tied for third were Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (FRA) and Alexei Shirov (ESP).

With the Dortmund tournament well wrapped up Vladimir Kramnik (RUS) took a sacrificial gamble in the last round against Nakamura and wasn't quite able to pull it off, suffering his only loss in Dortmund. His score of 7/10 was still well ahead of second place finisher Le Quang Liem (VIE), who had 5.5. Tied for third were Ruslan Ponamariov (UKR) and Anish Giri (NED).
