    Default New Website

The new website was launched at about 11:30 this morning.
It is located at the same address at the old site, but it may take a few hours till everyone can access it.
Just go to the usual site, hit refresh, and be patient. I can see it.

The store is not 100% yet, some technical problems. It will be added ASAP.
Please report any problems, and we'll get them fixed next week.
Enjoy, and have a great long weekend.

Thanks Pierre. We have some editing to do.

The site works well enough, and is definitely un-flashy. Don't the beer-and-pizza guys know alcohol is a depressant...

    1. The English site also says the CFC is a registered charity

    2. Ratings look-up for O'Neil returns no names. The field formatting seems to be wrong. My guess is that O'Brien and similar names with an apostrophe would have the same problem.

    3. The membership rates page shold have a definition (or, links to definitions) of the membership types. For example, a junior is under what age? 18? 19? 20? Also, a link to life membership rates might be helpful.

    4. Is it clear to a visitor that the CFC rates for each province include provincial dues, hence the different prices. The "CFC-federal portion" might be put at the top of the list.

Please report problems to me: Fred Underscore McKim at Hotmail Dot Com. Some (incorrect names, typos, etc) I should be able to correct, some may have to go back to the developer.

    Oops, another one...

The ratings fees should mention HST http://www.chess.ca/rating-fees

    Hi Bob G:

You, as president who made this a project this year, and Fred McKim, as the executive member spearheading it through, and all the volunteers along the way, are to be congratulated.

It is a good site, modest, easy to navigate, and seems to allow access to all basic information. The developer seems to have done a good job ( if a rank amateur can give an opinion ).

Well, that didn't take long... the CFC website is down.

    Okay, I know, it's a long weekend.

Unfortunately, some of the last minute spelling mistakes I corrected on prominent titled players names in Who's Who, yesterday, were wiped out when Resolution had to revert back to an image of the website from first thing yesterday.

These will all be fixed again on Monday, as we have decided not to do any updating over the weekend.
