    YT 0 ( Vacant )

Total 35 + 1 Vacancy ( Yukon Territories entitled to a governor, but one not appointed; other 2 Territories are not yet entitled to a governor )

Note: Changes from 2010-1 are that B.C., Alta., Nova Scotia and New Brunswick all have 1 less governor. Yukon Territory is entitled to 1 governor ( I believe they were also last year, but a governor was never appointed ). So there are 35 + 1 Vacancy prov. rep. governors this year, compared with 39 last year.

    2. Governors at large – 21 + 1 vacancy

    A - Executive – 2
    President - Michael von Keitz
Immediate Past President – Bob Gillanders
    B. – Non-Executive Officers – 2
    Masters' Representative – Vlad Drkulec,
    Women's Coordinator – Iulia Lacau-Rodean
( ( a) Director of Fund-raising ( Fiedler ); Public Relations Coordinator ( Armstrong ) and Rating Auditor ( Leblanc ) are prov. reps. ( b) Tournament Coordinator - already governor at large - holds Masters' Rep position )
    C – Other Organizations – 2
Chess Foundation of Canada - Lynn Stringer
Canadian Correspondence Chess Association - Valer Eugen Demian
    D - Canadian Champion and Runner-Up – 2
    Bator Sambuev
    Eric Hansen
    E – Former CFC Presidents ( some Life Governors ) – 13
    ( i ) Life Governors - 10
    • Phil Haley
    • Les Bunning
    • Terry Fleming
    • Francisco Cabanas
    • Peter Stockhausen
    • Maurice Smith
    • Yves Farges
    • Halldor Palsson
    • Nathan Divinsky
    • Bruce D Thomas

    ( ii ) Presidents in the past 5 years ( Excluding the Past President ) – 3
    Eric Van Dusen
    David Lavin
    Hal Bond
( 1 vacancy since no full term president for 2006-7 )

    3. Total Governors ( 56 + 2 vacancies, when 1 outstanding province appoints )

Note: You can see from the above:

    1. There should be 5 presidents in the last 5 years ( including the Past President, on the Executive ) - but we have only 4 – Bob Gillanders, Eric Van Dusen, David Lavin, and Hal Bond ( in 2006-7 we had 2 part-term presidents, and so they did not become governors );
    2. There are10 former president life governors ( 2 term presidents, or appointed );
    3. The President, when elected, is no longer a Provincial Representative governor – on becoming president, he becomes a governor-at-large. He has the power to appoint a replacement governor for himself. from his home Province.

This list is complete as of 11/08/15.

    Default Some Provinces!

    Thanks Bob A.

There remain a few provinces who have not yet reported their incoming governors list to Lyle.
I ask them to please do so ASAP.

OK I have editted Bob's original posting to put in red those groups we are still waiting to hear from and have made the thread a 'sticky thread' meaning it appears at the top of the listing of threads.

(Please note that I have not put Quebec or YT in red since we do not presently have an affiliate in these regions)

It is quite likely that there is nobody in those groups who read the newsboards, so probably phone calls will be in order.

Please note that I am continually updating the original post of 2011-2 CFC Governors as they come forward, despite the post title referring to June 30 ( I don't have the administrative power to edit it ).

    Default 2012-3 CFC Governors?

    Hi to Board Administrators:

This thread should now be deleted - it is obsolete.

President Michael von Keitz should post his new 2012-3 list here now ( he has posted it once elsewhere ).
