    The CCC Post ( Week of June 10 - 16/11 ).

Motion 2010-08 stated: “ The President must present a budget for the new fiscal year for approval to The Assembly of Governors, in consultation with the Treasurer, within 1 month of the start of a new CFC Administration. “ Motion 2010-10 stated: “ The Treasurer will also be responsible for developing, in conjunction with the President, an annual budget, to be presented by the President for approval to the Assembly of Governors within 1 month of the start of a new CFC administration. “ Both these motions were defeated at the 2010 CFC AGM. What does the CFC propose to do, if anything, at the 2011 AGM about the lack of Handbook legislation concerning a budget? We think governors need to deal with this! The Cooperative Chess Coalition ( CCC ) would prefer not to have to arrange for the motion to be brought.

The Cooperative Chess Coalition ( CCC ) is concerned that after 3 days, no governor has come forward to say they will deal with this hole in the CFC Handbook, there being nothing about the CFC Budget dates.

The CCC will see if anything transpires on this at the AGM. If not, then we will bring a motion to the 2011 Fall On-line Governors' Meeting.

We hope, though, that some governor will deal with this.

Hi Bob - The current administration will have a budget ready well in advance of the AGM for discussion. A practice I hope the next president will continue.

    Default Fixed Timeline for Budget?

    Hi Bob G:

    Thanks for the factual information.

But I note that you can only " HOPE " concerning future CFC budgets. The Cooperative Chess Coalition ( CCC ) feels this is insufficient. There should be a time frame set out in the CFC Handbook for the budget, so the members can monitor whether the timelines are met.

CCC still hopes some governor will tackle this issue, and bring a " budget amendment " to the AGM.
