Official 2011-2 CFC Provincial Representation Governor Allocation
My assumption in the original post that the number of governors this coming year would be identical to the last year, was wrong. There has been a decrease in membership, affecting provincial/territorial governor allocation.
CFC Secretary, Lyle Craver, using the CFC membership statistics as of May 1, has determined the following allocation of the 2011-2 Assembly of Governors:
AB 4
BC 4
MB 2
NB 1
NL 1
NS 1
NU 0
NWT 0
ON 18:
GTCL – 8
SWOCL - 5
EOCA - 4
NOCL - 1
PE 1
QC 2
SK 1
YT 1
Total 36 ( assuming all Provinces and Territories fill their positions; 2 Territories are not yet entitled to a governor )
Changes are that B.C., Alta., Nova Scotia and New Brunswick all have 1 less governor. Yukon Territory is entitled to 1 governor ( I believe they were also last year, but a governor was never appointed ). So there are 36 prov. rep. governors this year, compared with 39 last year.
With 21 Governors-at-Large ( + 3 vacancies ), Total Governors = 57 ( + 3 vacancies )
