    Q: How did the Cooperative Chess Coalition ( CCC ) come about?
    A: A number of us saw problems/solutions to our less than sparkling Canadian chess culture:

    a) Problem – autocratic systems; Solution: more collegiality, cooperation.
    b) Problem – membership taken for granted; Solution: more inviting chess culture re volunteerism;
    c) Problem – membership apathy; Solution: meaningful and influential role for members.
