    Can. GM Mark Bluvshtein finished 2nd on tie-break at Americas Continental Champ. - gets berth in FIDE World Cup.

    Grand Pacific Open – Apr. 22 – 25 – Victoria, B.C. - B.C.’s largest tournament – attracted 104 players. Winner - WGM Nino Maisuradze of France, undefeated in 6 rounds. First prize was $ 1,000.
