31 f5 has livened up the position. My old Fritz 6 thought manouvering to trade rooks and queens was better. We'll see.

Default Rd. 4 In Progress ( Friday, Feb. 11 )

    Thomas -

Move 32 - Thomas got back his P - material equality.

    Stockfish has it almost equal.

40 moves have been made and the players are catching their breath. White had given Thomas a chance to equalize with 38. Re8, but 39 ... Qd6 (made with less than a minute left on the clock) may have thrown away a half point for Thomas, we shall see.

It would seem to me that Thomas "blundered" in a drawn position with 46 ...h5, instead of just repeating the position.

That was my first impression too (without a lot of analysis!)

although with the White Q on e4, if black moves Rg5, there is h4... which might transpose into the game continuation since black is almost in zugzwang at that point.

    Maybe you mean 47. Qh4 (as h4 drops the Rook on g8) ... Kf7 =
