    JOB POSTING - 2011 Canadian Open Chess Championship

    Title: Chief Tournament Director

    Duties: All duties and responsibilities normally associated with the Chief Arbiter of a FIDE rated chess tournament.

    You must have experience as a chess tournament director. Please include a list of your experience and accomplishments with your application.

    You must be knowledgeable about CFC and FIDE tournament rules. This is normally demonstrated through the achievement of FIDE's arbiter title norms and titles.

    You must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

    Expected dates and site (to be confirmed): July 9-17, Toronto.

    2011 Canadian Open Championship has two jobs available:

    Assistant Tournament Director, Under 2000 Section
    Assistant Tournament Director, Under 1600 Section

    Experience preferred, but not essential. Must have strong interest in learning to direct chess tournaments. Should be working towards CFC's Tournament Director certification and FIDE Arbiter title. Ideal for player or parent involved in running club or junior chess.
