I always enjoyed Endgame Magic by John Beasley & Timothy Whitworth.Originally Posted by Berthold Chiang

Good luck with your search! Some of those books are incredibly interesting!

(While I've never seen this book, I asume it should be good enough as a compilation of endgame studies - 2545)

A First Century of Studies
by Pogosyants
Edited by A.J. Roycroft 48pp. A collection of 100 endgame studies composed by Pogosyants presented in Roycroft's inimitable style
i'm sure i'll get a wealth of information in these books.
A very recent work is Studies for Practical Players by Mark Dvoretsky and Oleg Pervakov - I have not seen it, but considering Dvoretsky's involvement (he is always advocating the use of studies to advance calculation skills) it would be of high quality. A free alternative are the studies published online at the Chesscafe - they have a large archive of over 600 positions.

Check your local library! Victoria's Central Library has a copy of this book for example.Originally Posted by Stephen Wright
