    the majority of books, like the one by kasparyan, is out of print. does anybody know a few great ones, and where i can get them?

    I always enjoyed Endgame Magic by John Beasley & Timothy Whitworth.

    My copy is from Batsford in 1996, and it doesn't seem to be on sale new.

    Good luck with your search! Some of those books are incredibly interesting!

    Default Endgame Studies

    A very recent work is Studies for Practical Players by Mark Dvoretsky and Oleg Pervakov - I have not seen it, but considering Dvoretsky's involvement (he is always advocating the use of studies to advance calculation skills) it would be of high quality. A free alternative are the studies published online at the Chesscafe - they have a large archive of over 600 positions.

    Check your local library! Victoria's Central Library has a copy of this book for example.
