    Governors' Discussion Board/Members' CFC Chess Forum - This Week's Activity ( June 27 - July 3 )

    Here is who has visited the Governors' Discussion Board/members' CFC Chess Forum ( the stats for both are combined ) in the last week ( 7 days - Sunday, June 27 - Saturday, July 3 ) by logging in - it is important that everyone knows who is being active, and who is not. The 33 people listed below actually logged in to view numbers of threads and numbers of replies on both boards, and some may have posted . However there may be many more who came, didn't log in and viewed, and left ( or maybe didn't view and left ).

    ( Note : the actual activity on the 2 boards is hard to determine:
    1. we do not know how many times a logged in viewer might have been to the board in the week, and how many threads they viewed. But their visits are captured in the " views " total for any particular thread ( note: the date shown for each logged in person below, though, is just the date of their most recent visit; they could have visited multiple times before then during the week );
    2. what we do not know is the names of viewers who came but did not log in - they viewed and left. If they viewed nothing and left, I believe there is no record of their attendance. But if they viewed a thread, then I believe it is captured in the " views " total for the thread, even if they did not log in ( Chris - is this right? I am going by the fact that one thread that has been up for a day and a half, has 50 views - since there are no replies for that thread, this indicates that there were 50 individual viewers - but there are many less than that logged in for that period of time, looking at the members' list ).

    Here are those that logged in:

    Vladimir Drkulec 06-28-2010

    Total : 11
    ( Note: it is with members/public that we have the greatest number of viewers who do not log in; so this number is very misleading re member/public use of this board. )

    Here are the number of threads for each board where someone started a thread or posted a reply to a thread in the last 7 days, and the total number of views ( I think this is both " logged in " views, and views of visitors who have " not logged in " - Chris, can you advise on this ) of those threads since they started:

    1. Governors' Discussion Board

    9 threads - total of 511 views ( Average of 56.7 views per thread - note that this does not necessarily mean that 56.7 individuals came to that thread; if there were replies to that thread, then the same individual may have viewed the original thread and the reply, and this is captured as 2 views )

    2. Members' CFC Chess Forum

    11 threads - total of 2,722 views ( Average of 272 views per thread - see note above )

    It seems to me that this is reasonable activity on these two boards, and that it shows the boards are serving their purposes, and justifies the CFC reviving them, when they had been let die for some time. It is also encouraging to see the number of CFC Governors visiting the boards in a week and logging in, though this certainly could be better ( though we don't know it appears about governors who came and didn't log in ).

    The existence of the 2 CFC Boards in no way criticizes or interferes with the CMA ChessTalk Board - the boards of both organizations are serving different purposes for the Canadian chess community.
