The PGN viewer was giving us some trouble just displaying a diagram all by itself, so I installed the FEN viewer as well. If you are in "Go Advanced" editing mode you will see the different buttons...

Yes, it will show variations. It's apparently possible to link it for live broadcast somehow as well, although I haven't researched that. Don't know about analyzing mode.

Ouch, sounds like the Windows XP default resolution :)

There, how's that? Still fairly big but not obnoxiously big anymore.

I'm still playing with it a bit, probably will go with about 2/3 of the current size, maybe 3/4. Have to head out for a bit though.
