Almonte Open - LAST MINUTE ANNOUNCEMENT!
Folks, just a heads-up, that due to outside circumstances, on Saturday the tournament will be held in the museum itself, and not the gatehouse. The museum is a short walk down the main path. It should make a picturesque change of venue. Hope to see you there.

Almonte Open - Final Report
33 players enjoyed a great weekend playing chess at the Mill of Kintail outside of Almonte, surrounded by the beautiful fall foilage. Due to a booking snafu, Saturday was spent playing in the actual Mill, dating back to the 1830s and currently a Museum. The players enjoyed the novel charm of the museum and playing beside the exhibits, but were happy to return to our traditional playing site Sunday at the gatehouse conference center at the mill.
Congratulations to Zachary Dukic and David Gordon, who shared first and second place with matching scores of 4.5 points.
The third place price was shared evenly among 5 players (Christopher Pace, William Doubleday, Dusan Simic, Daniel Xu, and Houji Yao).
Alexandre Khan was awarded the top U1900 prize, while Johnathan Han and Matthew Zhu shared 2nd U1900 prize.
Finally Herb Langer won the U1600 prize, while William Landstrom won the U1600 2nd prize, a book prize.
Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all for making it a great weekend of chess.
