  1. North American Open Final Results

    IM Bindi Cheng finished with 5.5 out of 9 in Las Vegas ............ American GM Timur Gareev ran away with the event finishing a full point ahead of FM John Bryant, who upset GM Hammer (NOR) in the last round. Some other young American GM's were left scrambling, ie Shankland, Ramirez, Lenderman.

  2. Groningen Final Results

    Eric Hansen won his last round game, with the black pieces, to finish in a tie for 4th, only half a point behind the leaders. Sharing 1st were GM's Andriasian (ARM), Kovchan (UKR), and Ernst (NED) with scores of 7/9.

    With one round left to play Eric has 5.5/8 - one point behind leader Zaven Andiasian (ARM). In tomorrow's game he is black against GM Peter Michalik, a win would likely land him in 3rd or 4th (with a theoretical chance for a first place tie).
