With still 2 weeks to go, the pre-registered list has already broken the 100 pre-registered mark!

Registrations are still coming in and with still 2 weeks to go, it looks like this will be a record number of competitors for the Ontario Chess Association's top Youth spots!

This is really the place to be for our youth players this year!

Also ... We have added to the attractions: We will be presenting an action packed "Live Chess Game" with players in full Medieval Costume and battles to capture squares!

This is in addition to our master simul's and giant chess Set play etc. etc.

Our registration package will have lots of goodies in it and already we have many "door prizes" to be awarded before each round.

Anyone who has attended an OYCC will attest to the great playing facilities at the Kitchener City Hall.

See the official website at: OYCC 2009 (http://www.psmcd.net/oycc2009) :D

Register ONLINE at: OYCC Registration (http://www.psmcd.net/oycc2009/online_reg.htm) or at Chess Reg CA (http://www.chessreg.ca)

See the Pre-Registered list at: OYCC Pre-Registered (http://www.psmcd.net/oycc2009/2009standings.htm) :)

Hi Patrick:

I noticed that you have in the pre-registered list only 6 amalgamated groups ( contains both the Open and Girls' groups ).

Do you get girl qualifiers to the CYCC, by picking the top 3 girls in each amalgamated group?

Bob

I am just listing them for now in their age groups .. in most cases, there are separate groups for the Girls and the Boys ...

At this point, I believe that U10, U12 and U14 all have separate sections ... Most likely, the way things are going with Pre-Registrations, the U8 will also have a separate Girls section.

Based on history, though, I am not so sure that the U16 or the U18 sections will be separated.

BTW: we are now over 110! :D

Register by Thursday, May 21 to ensure that you have the Pre-Registered fee locked in. As long has you successfully register online by Thursday Evening, you will be able to pay the cheaper entry fee on arrival.

We have goodies in the registration package and draw prizes as well as activities for players and their families while they are here.

It should be a fun time for all! :D

... and BTW:

For those of you that are wanting to play in the OYCC before registering for the CYCC:

Players in the OYCC will have the early registration fee for the CYCC extended to May 31.

We wanted you to be able to see if you can win your Bursary before you commit to the CYCC (Which, btw, is sure to be a fantastic event at a fantastic venue in a fantastic city).
