Live Broadcast of the games started today for Rd. 1 about 6:30 pm EST.

The official site ( for live broadcast ) is: http://58.213.136.232/en/user/user.asp

Somewhat deficient feature is that they refer to the players as " Player 1, etc., " rather than attaching their actual names.

The players are:

# Rnk Player Nat Rtng born
1 1 Topalov, Veselin BUL 2791 1975
2 3 Ivanchuk, Vassily UKR 2786 1969
3 7 Aronian, Levon ARM 2757 1982
4 13 Movsesian, Sergei SVK 2732 1978
5 17 Svidler, Peter RUS 2727 1976
6 26 Bu, Xiangzhi CHN 2714 1985

This inauguration tournament is very strong, and immediately joins the world ranks of Corus, Morelia/Linares, Sofia, Dortmund, and Grand Slam.

Well, there seems to be something wrong with the live broadcast - all the games are frozen after only the first few moves.

Anyone know what's happening?

I may be wrong about the start time then. Anyone know when the broadcast of the games starts each day ( assuming it is functional )?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Bob,

1st Round is Dec 11, 3pm local time
I believe they're 13 hours ahead of us.
That means it should start around 2am for us.
I noticed earlier today they were doing testing with the DGT boards on the site, but those weren't the games I don't think.
