CFC Ratings - Participation & Bonus Points

We have updated the CFC rating program to incorporate the Participation and Bonus points as per motion 2008-10 that was passed in GL9. After some testing, we quietly went live last week since we had very few tournaments. We discovered an error and have subsequently fixed it. Micah Hughey spotted the error and alerted us. Thank you Micah. You have earned the official CFC title of "Eagle eye".

Too bad it wasn't in place in 2007 ( when I was the most active tournament player in Canada ! :) ).

I am dredging up this old thread because questions posed on chesstalk about bonus points. To recap:

Participation & Bonus points were reintroduced to the system recently as per motion passed in GL9.

Bonus points calculated as:

60% - 70% - 5 points
71% - 89% - 10 points
90% + - 15 points

The percentages refer to you tournament result ( ie. 3/4 = 75%), you get 10 bonus points. However, 2 criteria, your performance rating must exceed your CFC highest rating, and must be at least 4 games.

Participation points calculated separately, based on rating.
