The CFC Regular Chess Post – October 24/11 – CFC Membership Drive Committee.

The idea of a CFC membership drive has been floating around for about a year. EOCA Governor Kevin Pacey got a motion passed at the 2011 Fall Governors’ On-line Meeting striking a Membership Drive Committee, and he is its first Chairperson. There is currently one member on the committee, Ont. Governor Rob Clark ( replaced SWOCL Governor Michael von Keitz, elected CFC President ). The committee is just forming up and so far has not made any public statements. However Kevin has indicated a small committee might be the most effective.

Hi Bob

I don't believe it's necessary for a committee to make too many public statements (if any), except for reporting to the Governors at various meetings. For one thing, there wouldn't be much new to report if all was made public beforehand.

Let's say that (at the moment, at least) the meat of the committee's work is emailing the large number of former CFC members individually.

Kevin. That's a good start. I bet a lot of them don't even know that we have a newsletter again, let alone a new web site.
