Any players had their application to join the team rejected?

Not the place for that, Ken.

I'll take that as a "yes", Chris.

Hi Chris:

I think the reason this " news " place is a " forum ", is to allow debate on the news items, regardless of whether such debate may be happening on other CFC or CMA discussion boards.

So I think New Brunswick CFC Governor Ken Craft's request is entitled to be answered here in this forum:

From post on CMA ChessTalk by Mikhail Egerov, coach of Jiaxin ( Dora ) Liu, top U-10 Canadian girl, on September 11 ( some corrective editing ):

" top kids who are not allowed to represent Canada in WYCC this year in Brazil:

Players:
WCM Jackie Peng (top girl U14 in Canada)
WCM Jiaxin (Dora) Lui (top girl U10 in Canada)
Dezheng Kong (top boy U12 in Canada)

WCM Jackie Peng and Dezheng Kong did not register to join Canadian team in WYCC this year. WCM Jaxin (Dora) Liu tried, but got declined by CFC to join WYCC team. "

I understood Chris to be suggesting that this thread was not the appropriate place to engage in debate about this - there is a thread elsewhere on this forum and on ChessTalk where this topic is being 'debated'. Your post, while strictly factual, leaves out so much information that is relevant - thereby giving the impression, in isolation, that "they applied and were rejected". That is a gross oversimplification (from what I understand) and is the reason why a single random post with partial information can lead to confusion.

I understood Chris perfectly, Kerry. I just don't agree with him. The executive continues to be uncommunciative with the Governors. I think that has to stop.

Hi Kerry:

Just one point : I felt Mikhail's post was a very accurate summary -

1. 3 are not allowed to play;
2. only one of the three applied to play, and that application was rejected.

Those facts are quite precise.

I know there are many additional facts, but I felt this post standing alone gave the main facts that were the start of any discussion.
