The CFC Regular Chess Post – June 6/11 – Non-Playing Junior Parents.

CFC has many “ junior members “. And only a few of their parents ( playing and non-playing ) have themselves taken out “ adult memberships “. CFC notes that for a number of years there was a non-playing junior parent member governor ( Executive ), and also again another ( a non-executive officer ) in 2010-1; on the Youth Committee, there are 4 member non-playing parents, and 2 parents who are not CFC members.

Is there room for some of these non-member parents to take a bigger administrative role in the running of the CFC, since their children are active in CFC-rated tournaments? If they were interested, perhaps they could be requested to take out an adult membership, so they could play a full role in administration? Should CFC be approaching some of these parents to see if they would be interested in volunteering in some official administrative way ?
